How we work

A process that respects your time and budget

Every project follows a structured five-phase approach. Not because it's rigid, but because structure is what gives us the freedom to be flexible where it actually counts.

01
Discovery
1–2 weeks

Phase one

Understand everything before touching code

We begin every engagement with a thorough discovery phase. This isn't a box-ticking exercise — it's where we genuinely learn your business, your users, your constraints, and your definition of success.

We conduct structured stakeholder interviews, review any existing systems and documentation, analyse competitive context, and surface any technical risks before they become expensive surprises.

By the end of discovery, we have enough understanding to challenge your initial brief where needed — and the relationship built to have that conversation productively.

Deliverables

  • Discovery report with key findings
  • User persona definitions and journey maps
  • Technical risk register
  • Scope definition and exclusions document
  • Initial project roadmap
02
Architecture
1–2 weeks

Phase two

Make the hard decisions before they're expensive

Architecture is where we decide how the system will be structured — the choices that are expensive to change later. We take this phase seriously, because a week of careful architecture planning saves months of painful refactoring.

We produce a detailed technical specification that your whole team can review and interrogate before a line of production code is written. No surprises, no hidden dependencies.

Deliverables

  • System architecture diagram
  • Data model and API design
  • Technology stack justification
  • Security and compliance considerations
  • Infrastructure design and cost estimates
  • Agreed definition of done

Phase three

Agile delivery with full visibility

Development runs in two-week sprints. Every sprint ends with a working demo — not a status deck, not a progress update, but running software you can see and interact with.

You'll have access to our project management board at all times, a shared Slack channel with your engineering team, and a weekly written summary of what was completed, what's coming next, and any decisions we need from you.

We do code reviews on every pull request, automated testing throughout, and peer review on architecture-level changes. Quality isn't a phase — it's a habit.

What you get

  • Fortnightly sprint demos
  • Access to shared project board
  • Weekly written updates
  • Direct Slack access to your team
  • Staging environment updated per sprint
04
Launch
1–2 weeks

Phase four

Launch with confidence, not crossed fingers

A production launch is not a moment of hope — it's the result of a rigorous pre-launch process. We run performance testing, security audits, accessibility checks, and cross-device verification before anything goes live.

We prepare rollback plans, set up monitoring and alerting, and are on call for 48 hours post-launch to catch anything that slips through. Our goal is that launch day is boring — which is exactly how it should be.

Deliverables

  • Pre-launch checklist sign-off
  • Performance benchmark report
  • Security audit summary
  • Monitoring and alerting setup
  • Deployment runbook and rollback plan
  • 48-hour post-launch support

Phase five

Products aren't done — they evolve

The best software is never finished. We offer ongoing retainer and support arrangements for clients who want to continue iterating, adding features, and scaling their product after launch.

Monthly retainer clients get a dedicated sprint allocation, priority support response times, and a monthly strategy review where we look at what's working, what's not, and where to focus next.

Ongoing support includes

  • Dedicated sprint allocation
  • Monthly product strategy review
  • Priority bug fix response (4hr SLA)
  • Security patch management
  • Infrastructure monitoring

Our commitments

What we guarantee on every project

24h

Response time

Any question, concern, or request gets a response within 24 business hours. Usually much faster.

100%

Senior engineers

We never hand off to juniors without supervision. Your project is worked on by people who've done this before.

0

Surprise invoices

Scope changes are discussed and agreed before they're worked on. No bill shock at month-end.
